At Boom Battle Bar, patrons can dive into competitive and interactive games while enjoying food and drinks with friends or family.
The main attraction here is the “Battle Stations,” which are individual gaming setups equipped with various games and challenges.
We appreciate that these games include arcade classics, virtual reality experiences, and competitive multiplayer games for both small and large groups.
Additionally, we love that all gaming stations are well-maintained, making for smooth and enjoyable gameplay!
We also noted that the staff frequently tidies up the gaming areas and seating spaces. Overall, their efforts made sure that the venue remained inviting.
However, we must note that the unisex toilets might not be to everyone’s liking. The high foot traffic can also occasionally impact their cleanliness, which we felt iffy about.
While the higher menu prices and crowded environment can be drawbacks, our overall experience at Boom Battle Bar was still great!
Pros
- Wide range of activities are offered
- Lively atmosphere
- Friendly and welcoming staff
Cons
- Higher-priced menu offerings
- Usually crowded even on off days
- Unisex toilets only
Nostalgic fun
“I love this place! Bit of everything! Tom is the most amazing bartender but everyone is so friendly 100% recommended especially for some nostalgia fun!”

One of the most fun experiences we’ve had.
“Loved it here! We did axe throwing and it was so much fun! We also did shuffleboard and hired a karaoke booth! Honestly one of the most fun experiences we’ve had. Can’t wait to go back!”

The Gas Works Brewbar has built a reputation for its unique blend of craft beers, hearty portions, and welcoming atmosphere.
During our visit, we were pleased to find a variety of seating options, from cosy booths to communal tables, catering to both small and large groups. There’s also plenty of standing room for those just popping in for a drink.
We appreciate that their food offerings come in generous portions without breaking the bank. However, we found that the food quality is inconsistent during busier days.
Also, the high foot traffic can lead to slower clean-up times, leaving tables and restrooms less than pristine during peak hours. This might deter some patrons who are sensitive about the establishment’s cleanliness.
As for their shuffleboard tables, they only have two well-maintained spaces, which is a bit limited. However, we appreciate that customers can reserve their slots in advance when making their reservations.
That said, we love their friendly and attentive staff. Along with the lively ambience, we think The Gas Works Bar is an awesome place for shuffleboard!
Pros
- Great atmosphere
- Serves big portions
- Near the city centre
Cons
- Cleanliness could be better
- Long wait times
- Inconsistent on food quality
Great atmosphere
“Great atmosphere when we walked in. Came here as part of a food day out in Manchester and wasn’t disappointed. Had the Nom Noms, very nice, but strange eating a meat filled donut! also had Korean chicken, also very nice, washed down with a refreshing Elderflower lager”

Cracking bar with some craft keg and cask beers
“Cracking bar with some craft keg and cask beers, some of it brewed onsite. Staff very friendly. Didn’t have food but what I saw looked very good. They have some great bar games there including two darts boards. Will be back”

The Bierkeller is a favourite destination for those who love a wide range of beverages, a spacious bar area, and a vibrant atmosphere. It’s one of our go-to spots for a night out.
We especially enjoy the variety of bar games they offer, including shuffleboard, beer pong, and darts. They also have spaces available for corporate events, stag parties, and large group gatherings.
Additionally, we also liked how accessible they are. We found they’re near Shudehill tram stops and other city attractions, like the Manchester Cathedral and the National Football Museum, making them accessible for a fun night out!
However, one downside to them is the overall cleanliness. During peak times, the restrooms, and table’s cleanliness can be overlooked, which can detract from the overall ambience.
That said, we’re still positive about The Bierkeller thanks to their amazing staff. Customers can always expect efficient and courteous service, making any visit enjoyable despite the small hiccups mentioned.
Pros
- Friendly and attentive staff
- Spacious bar area
- Wide range of beverage options
Cons
- Long wait times during peak days
- Restroom cleanliness could be better
The beverage selection was of high quality and diverse
“Attended the Women’s World Cup finals at the establishment, which offered an exceptional ambiance. The beverage selection was of high quality and diverse.
However, there appeared to be a staffing shortage, as table service was the only option available. Consequently, there was a significant delay of over 45 minutes before receiving a beverage. Additionally, the breakfast food served was of subpar quality.
Overall, the experience was satisfactory, despite the aforementioned shortcomings.”

The atmosphere was bang on for relaxing
“We booked the sports package for a stag do of 27 boys. 5 packages gave us 10 beer towers, 5 platters of food and the hire of some crackin bar games for the duration of our stay. The atmosphere was bang on for relaxing, having pints with the guys and for our needs as a stag do. We felt we were able to enjoy the evening without being judged for being a stag do. Highly recommended for such events.
Vegetarian options: The platters could have more clearly labelled or well considered veggie options…we had 3 veggies who weren’t sure what was/wan’t veggie friendly but it wasn’t a big issue, just feedback for future”

7Sins is one of those places where you can expect great service without worrying about accommodating your group.
We love their spacious layout, which comfortably fits large groups without feeling cramped—a big plus for social events and parties.
Furthermore, we also appreciate that their game equipment, facilities, and amenities are well-maintained, enhancing the overall experience for everyone.
The only thing we’re a bit iffy about is that their shuffleboard tables aren’t always available. We had to inquire beforehand and ensure our reservation included the shuffleboard table to guarantee its use.
Another one of 7Sins’ standout features is its service. The staff are friendly, attentive, and efficient, ensuring customers feel welcome and well-cared for.
As for their pricing, we’re pleased to find that 7Sins offers reasonable pricing for both drinks and entrees. The value for money is good, making it a popular choice for a night out without breaking the bank.
Plus, despite the limited food, drinks, and bar games, the ambience and service make it a great spot for a lively night out.
Pros
- Great atmosphere
- Excellent service levels
- Accepts large groups
Cons
- Limited food and drink options
- Few bar game offerings
Always a lovely fun atmosphere
“Always a lovely fun atmosphere. It’s chilled no trouble, great music most nights and you have pool, games and food. Personally not that much of a fan of the food but maybe it was a bad night when I had it as I know people who say it’s alright. But for me it was just way over salted. Drinks are great, good selection of 2 4 £10 cocktails and friendly bar staff.”

Good selection of bar games
“Well presented, friendly and polite staff. Good choice of drinks on offer and fair pricing for town. Good selection of bar games such as pool and darts, also some pinball machines.”

The Brotherhood Of Pursuits And Pastimes has earned a reputation for excellent service and impressive beer offerings, and we can definitely attest to that.
During our visit, we were pleased to find that their facilities and game equipment are well-maintained, creating a cosy yet dynamic environment.
The space, though relatively small, is well-organised to maximise comfort and functionality, although this can be a challenge for larger groups.
We were impressed by their wide selection of beers on tap and other beverages, all affordably priced at around £8.50.
Their bar games, like shuffleboard, billiards, and darts, are located on the second floor and are available to all customers. We liked that patrons don’t have to reserve their slot beforehand, but it can be challenging to get a slot during peak hours.
Service at The Brotherhood is consistently excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and professional, ensuring that patrons feel welcomed and well-cared for.
However, their food quality has received mixed feedback, with a noticeable decline during busier periods. This is something to keep in mind for those planning to visit during peak times.
Pros
- Affordable pricing
- Excellent service levels
- Clean and well-kept interiors
- Impressive beer offerings
Cons
- Mixed reviews on food quality
- Small spaces
The staff were all so friendly, and the food was really delicious too
“Came here to take on their GutBuster challenge! We were a bit disappointed to find out it wasn’t the one that BeardMeatsFood took on, but realised the 50 chicken wings in 20 minutes would have to do. A serious struggle for me (only managed 26), but light work for my friend – it was his first challenge and he is now the only person to beat the new one!
The staff were all so friendly, and the food was really delicious too – also, the bar/restaurant itself is so nice – so many cool spots and bar games to play! I highly recommend just drinking, but take on the challenge if you dare!”

The staff were great
“Came across this place after a recommendation from a good friend and I was slightly in owh of the place. From it being pet friendly they do some amazing bites to eat, and who can moan at 50p wings.
The staff were great, greeted us with a smile and made us feel genuinely welcome. I am in love with their back bar which is probably one of the best stocked I’ve seen in a long while but whatever your fancy I’m sure they’ll have something for everyone.
It’s quite a cosey venue but don’t be fooled by the ground floor as they have a large basement area too with plenty of room, and yes it’s a sort of sporty bar but not one of the rowdy kind like some chain-bars i could mention. In my opinion defo worth a pass through as you make your way through the city madness!!”
