Tucked away in the charming town of Bolton, Acquiesce Rehab caught our attention with its holistic approach to addiction treatment.

The luxury housing at Acquiesce was a major plus for us; we felt a real sense of comfort and tranquillity during our visit. Imagine modern furnishings, private bedrooms, a large, beautifully maintained garden, and spacious living areas that make you feel right at home.

We were truly blown away by how Acquiesce integrates recovery into everyday life. During our visit, we saw firsthand how their individual therapy sessions, rooted in CBT and 12-Step facilitation, are just the tip of the iceberg.

Their workshops on employment, education, budgeting, and housing really caught our eye – it’s clear they’re dedicated to preparing clients for life after rehab. Also, their range of holistic therapies, such as massage, Reiki, meditation, and yoga, stood out as exceptional features.

However, it’s worth noting that the exclusive nature of Acquiesce means they have limited capacity. This can make it challenging to secure a spot, but this high demand also speaks volumes about the quality of their services.

Pros

  • Luxury housing with modern amenities
  • Comprehensive workshops and holistic therapies
  • High client-to-staff ratio

Cons

  • Limited capacity due to exclusive nature

Life changing

Acquiesce has genuinely been life changing for me. I cannot thank Acquiecse enough for the care, compassion and understanding they gave me. They taught me about the disease of addiction and the tools to manage it for a healthier and happier future.

Good care and support

My son benefitted a lot from his stay at Acquiesce.  He learned a lot there and received good care and support.  He also formed some friendships that will continue and be mutually supportive.

Originally commissioned by the Department of Health, Oasis Recovery Bradford is a unique detox unit in West Yorkshire. Built in 2009, this 17-bed facility is designed to accommodate people with limited mobility, which we found to be a refreshing and inclusive approach.

We were genuinely impressed by Oasis Recovery Bradford’s comprehensive, medically managed detox program. The 24/7 nursing care and specialist prescribing GP on staff made us feel confident that clients are well cared for throughout their journey.

We found their program to be thorough and effective, with a great mix of group and individual therapy sessions, guided relaxation techniques like deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation, as well as yoga and light fitness activities.

What we love most is their location. Being close to Bradford city centre and major motorways makes it incredibly accessible.

One potential drawback is the limited number of beds, which can sometimes mean a wait for admission. However, this smaller size creates a more personalised and attentive care experience for each client.

Pros

  • Medically managed detox with 24/7 care
  • Accommodates individuals with mobility issues
  • Free family support and aftercare

Cons

  • Limited number of beds

Professional and very helpful

I have just completed the 28 day programme at Oasis Bradford. I can honestly say that it’s the best thing I could have done. The staff are friendly, compassionate, professional and very helpful.

Non-judgemental

Oasis Bradford was the start of my new sober life, I don’t think I would be in the place I am now without the help I was given on my 3day detox, the thing that I noticed most was every single member of staff were non judgemental and made you feel safe.

Achieve Salford Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service stands out with its innovative and high-performing substance use treatment. We love how they take a person-centred approach, focusing on early identification and prompt support for those affected by alcohol or drug use.

Upon checking them out, we were genuinely impressed by their holistic approach. We were glad to find personalised treatment plans, a variety of therapies, and robust community support networks.

Clients raved about the mental health support and relapse prevention strategies. They said these made them feel confident about gaining long-term success and in maintaining sobriety.

On the downside, the limited out-of-hours support might be a drawback for some.

As for their approach, we’re fans of how they collaborate closely with local health and social care providers.

This collaboration means clients can access various resources and expertise, such as mental health services, housing assistance, and employment support. With these, every aspect of recovery is addressed!

Pros

  • Collaborative approach with various health and social care providers
  • Focus on sustainable health and well-being
  • Person-centred treatment plans

Cons

  • Limited out-of-hours support

During our visit to The Arc, we were genuinely impressed by their commitment to creating a safe and welcoming community hub in Manchester.

We saw how they offer a supportive environment both in the community and within the criminal justice system. This collaborative approach, we found, is a game-changer—all the necessary support is under one roof!

But what we appreciated most was their focus on helping individuals self-actualize and build new lives. We observed clients actively participating in workshops on mental health and recovery, designed to empower them and make them feel valued.

Clients even shared with us enthusiastic feedback about the personalised care and support they received.

However, it’s worth noting that The Arc’s limited hours of operation can be a drawback for some. Despite this, the quality of care and support they offer during these hours is exceptional.

If you can manage within their schedule, The Arc provides a robust and transformative recovery experience.

Pros

  • Collaborative community hub
  • Access to diverse services and support
  • Focus on holistic recovery

Cons

  • Limited hours of operation

Turning Point Smithfield offers compassionate care and effective treatment for adult men and women with substance use disorders. The use of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to ease withdrawal symptoms is for us a standout feature.

We found their comprehensive assessment process interesting. From what we’ve seen, this leads to individualised treatment plans so clients can meet their individual needs and goals.

As for the duration of the plans, it’s notable that their alcohol withdrawal program typically takes 7 days, while opiate detox can last up to 21 days. Furthermore, they also accept clients detoxing from other non-addictive substances.

We’re also glad to find comfortable accommodations in the facility. We loved the private rooms, nutritious chef-prepared meals, and the variety of recreational activities available, including art therapy.

Once clients are stabilised, they work with staff on aftercare planning, which we found to be very thorough. However, the high demand for their services means early booking is essential – a small price to pay for such excellent care.

Pros

  • Comprehensive and individualised treatment plans
  • Holistic and recreational therapies

Cons

  • High demand, so early booking is essential
